Topolino’s Terrace Character Breakfast

Disney is known for their various character meals, where guests can enjoy their food while characters come around and in pre-covid days signed autographs, gave hugs and posed for pictures. Although character meals look a little different these days, the most recent one we experienced at the Riviera Resort still proved itself to be great! While I very much hope that we can return to the days of character hugs, autographs and non socially distanced pictures, I would 100% recommend this character meal to anyone traveling during current restrictions.

Enjoy the views of the gorgeous Riviera Resort while you sit down at your table on the top floor of the resort, with the restaurant itself drawing inspiration from Europe’s cliffside restaurants.

This character dining breakfast is one of the more coveted advanced dining reservations to make and it is important that you have a reservation if you want to see Mickey, Minnie, Daisy and Donald in their stylish outfits designed for their specific art-based professions. The characters are announced with an introduction explaining their professions and walk through the dining room stopping near tables to wave and pose for pictures at a distance. After all four characters come out individually, they return for a fun song and dance through the restaurant. Of the character meals we have experienced since Disney reopened last year, it has been my favorite.

This meal was the first time Isaiah had seen the characters now that he is starting to really recognize them and it could not have been more of a hit! He was cheering and waving and squealing to the characters every time one came around. Isaiah is our straight-faced, minimal expression kid and to see the sheer excitement in his expression as the characters came by absolutely made our day!

After you sit down and give your drink order, your server will bring an assortment of pastries and fresh made jam and butter to the table for sharing. Both of our boys chose the Mickey waffle dippers which came in an absolutely adorable presentation. Trevor ordered the Spiced Sausage Hash and I ordered the Wood-fired Butchers Steak. We have eaten dinner at Topolino’s before and their steak is fantastic, and the breakfast steak proved to meet the same standards.

Our only possible complaint was that as compared to the typical character breakfasts, the portions/amount of food was less with it being the same prices as the other character meals. With that being said, the quality of food was fantastic, we thoroughly enjoyed our meals and from conversations with others, it seems as though everyone was pleased with the quality of their meals.
